Kazakh Lower House speaker and Chinese ambassador discuss inter-parliamentary cooperation

The Kazakh Lower House speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin has discussed issues of inter-parliamentary co-operation with Chinese Ambassador Zhou Li in Astana. The sides touched upon the issues of interaction between the leading political forces of the two countries, the Nur Otan party and the Communist Party of China. They also expressed hope for strengthening ties, including at the level of inter-parliamentary groups. During the meeting the sides also stressed the continuation of progressive development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and China. Nurlan Nigmatulin said that agreements reached, as a result of state visits of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Chinese President Hu Jintao, are opening new development prospects for bilateral relations. In addition, the Majilis speaker focused on international projects which are currently being implemented on the initiative of the Head of State, the significance of which is high for both countries and the region as a whole.
